Seat Weaving
Chair Cane
For Basketweaving: Chair cane is good for lashing on rims/bands. Size Medium or Common are good choices for small (6″ to 10″ baskets). Binder cane (4mm) is recommended for larger baskets.
Cane Webbing
SIZE of cane webbing pattern is the measurement from the center of one hole in the pattern weave to the center of the next hole in the pattern weave.
Cane Webbing
These kits contain enough chair cane for a woven seat that is 12 x 12″. If your seat is larger, order 1 chair cane kit and 1 coil of 270′ in the same size cane.
Fiber Rush
Made in USA. Kraft brown color (paper bag brown). Twisted paper. Enough for a 14×14″ seat. 4/32″= 550′ feet Tools needed: Rubber Mallet (or hammer) AND 4″ spring clamp.
Seagrass
1 lb. coil. Twisted green grass rope made in China, looks like rush. Ages to tan color. Used for chairs or basketry.
Raffia
All natural, prime Madagascar raffia. Twisted pigtails. 12 oz. Use for pine needle baskets.
