Chair Cane Kits
Caning awl, pegs, complete instructions and enough cane and
binder cane to weave a normal size chair seat.  $ 15.95

We have 5 different sizes of chair cane kits.

To decide which size is right for your chair,
measure the distance between the holes, center to center.
Then, check this chart to order size of chair cane kit:
"Fine", "Narrow Medium", etc.

cane width size of drilled hole hole distance apart, center to center
Fine Fine 2.25 mm 3/16" 1/2"
Fine 2.50 mm 3/16" 9/16"
Narrow Medium 2.75 mm 1/4" 5/8"
Medium 3.00 mm 1/4" 3/4"
Common 3.50 mm 5/16" 7/8"
How much to charge for labor??? Generally, the current charge for re-caning chair seats is $1.25 per hole. Count the number of holes around the entire frame and that's the $ amount that you should charge for labor alone. Add your materials cost to that. $1.25 is a midwestern USA price. Labor charged  in other areas can be much higher.

Binder Cane

Superior quality cane with glossy bark.
(For chairs, one bunch will weave about an 18" seat.)
Excellent as lashing on larger baskets.

Binder Cane - width Approx. 500 ft. each bunch
4mm $16.45
5mm $16.45
6mm $16.45
How much to charge for labor? Porchweave or Finger Lakes Fanweave in binder cane or  flat reeds is between $4.50 and $5 per inch. Measure the longest rail. For example: 15" across back rail x $5 = $75 labor per chair.
